Jordan’s Ministry of Higher Education provides a searchable list of recognised non-Jordanian universities and has warned students to check recognition, minimum secondary averages and the required Tawjihi stream before studying abroad. That check belongs before payment, not after graduation.
Confirm Tawjihi and programme eligibility
Send the university your genuine Tawjihi certificate, passport and any required translations. Ask for a written review for the exact programme. The university’s general entry threshold may not be the same as Jordan’s conditions for recognising study in that field.
For medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering and other regulated professions, confirm the relevant Tawjihi stream, minimum average, study mode and professional-licensing path with the Jordanian authorities.
Search the exact university
Use Jordan’s Recognition and Certificates Equivalency Directorate. Search the institution and read any conditions. Then ask about the campus, programme, delivery mode and your intended enrolment date. A recognised institution name does not automatically answer every programme or professional question.
YÖDAK’s current list should also contain the North Cyprus institution. These two checks answer different questions: local institutional status and Jordanian recognition.
Compare net, documented cost
Request a personal invoice showing tuition after scholarship, mandatory fees, preparation, payment dates and refunds. Add a current housing offer, travel, residence, health and insurance.
Compare the full degree, not just year one. A high scholarship percentage can still sit on a high list price or exclude mandatory charges. Use the scholarship verification guide before treating an award as funding.
Pay through the institution
Confirm the beneficiary using the university’s official finance contact. Avoid personal or unexplained third-party accounts. Save the bank trace and obtain a university receipt tied to your student number.
Travel and residence
Most Ercan itineraries connect through Türkiye. Jordanian travellers should check the current Turkish rule for the exact itinerary and ask whether baggage is checked through. After arrival and academic registration, follow the current Ministry of Interior process for student residence.
Bottom line
